ANCIENT PRIVILEGE USED

MARINES MARCH IN CITY COLORS AND BAYONETS (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 19. A picturesque ceremonial- drew crowds into the streets of the city to-day when, before entraining for Portsmouth, the Royal Marines, who have been on guard duty at Buckingham Palace for the last few weeks, marched through the city in exercise of the ancient privilege and right enjoyed by marines for 200 years. Entering the city of London with colors flying 1 , drums beating and bayonets fixed, the company proceeded to the Mansion House, .where the salute was taken by the Lord Mayor. The privilege of the marines, which was exercised to-day for the first time, dates from the time when they formed one of the trained bands of the city.
