PRISON CAMP SYSTEM
SUCCESS IN N.S.W. NYD.YKY, July 1. New South Wales has a prison camp system in which good conduct gaol inmates arc selected for a life in the country, at work in the bush, during the remainder of their terms. They arc employed at farm and afforestation work ami the scheme has proved very successful in improving the menial and physical condition and outlook of the men. The Government has now decided In extend the system to the women prisoners. A camp is to be established outside the chief mol ropplPa n gaol, which is some distance from l-Jie cilv and has an extensive area of laihl round it. The good conduct women are to be given healthful occupation in growing garden stuff and flowers and other useful work, and it is expected that it will assist considerably in their rehabilitation as law-abiding citizens.
