Enthusiastic support for the proposed provision of sporting and other holiday facilities on Marine parade for the benefit of tourists was given at a meeting of the Napier Retailers’ Association, it was decided to suggest to the City Council that a meeting of local bodies be called to devise ways of giving assistance. The whole plan is to he discussed at a special meeting of the council next week. The Rev, A. J. H. Dow, ministerelect for St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, arrived at Gisborne yesterday with Mrs. Dow and their two sons. The induction service lias been fixed to take place at 7.30 p.iri. tp-morrow. i?ollmving ou tlie service in St. Andrew’s Church, the congregation will adjourn to the Sunday school hall, when the opportunity wiil be taken by tlie members of the church, . representatives of t)ie Ministers’ Association, home missioners and others to welcome the Rev. A. J. 11. and Mrs. Dow and family. The pulpit at St. Andrew's next Sunday will be occupied by Mr. How.
