GARAGE WRECKED
LIFTED P,Y CYCLONE A corrugated iron garage at North Egmput was completely wrecked on Tuesday morning when it was picked up bodily by a cyclone and hurled against a cottage a chain away. Later in the. morning a similar disturbance of lesser proportions tore several sheets of iron from tho. verandah of an old house. The first cyclone struck the garage from the south-east at-about 6 a.m., and leaving one or two of the vertical studs, lifted the building up a 12ft. bank and cast it against tfie side of the cottage. The walls were stripped of iron almost completely, and the toof was turned over until it now leans drunkenly on the roof of the cottage. One sheet of iron lies about 50yds. from the garage, and a smaller pi.ece about lOCyds. away. The garage was empty at the time. No damage was done to the hostel.
