ENGLAND ATTACKED
RADIO PRIEST’S SPEECH “ENTICED U.S. INTO WAR” NEW YORK, May 24. _ Father Coughlin, the “Radio priest,” carried his campaign for “social justice” into New York last- night, by addressing in Madison Square Garden 22,000 people, whose hearts lie had clearly won iu advance. 110 enjoyed the greatest triumph of his career as the vast half-hysterical crowd cheered and screamed approval of his bitter tirades against the bankers, the President who had vetoed the immediate payment of the war veterans’ bonus, the “kept press,” the relief programme, and the “wickedness of Great Britain in enticing the United States into war.” There were no hecklers, and no opposition; and tho impressive array of police proved unnecessary.
