DAIRY GRADERS’ MOVE
PRESENTATION MADE MR. G. PURVIS HONORED Mr G. Purvis, dairy grader and instructor at Gisborne, was presented to-day with a case of pipes from the directorates of the dairy factories ot the district, as a mark of esteem of the faithful manner in which he had served them over the past seven years. The presentation was made by Mr Ji. Sunderland, secretary of the Kia On Company, at the ward conference held at Gisborne to-day. In doing so, Mr. Sunderland said that he could say that Mr Purvis had always been found to he lamest in his endeavor to assist Hie dairy companies. They bad bad ditleronees of opinion, hut they had always agreed on their differences. Mr Purvis, in. reply, said that, ho was leaving Gisborne with mixed feelings. He was going lo New Plymouth on promotion,, but lie bad enjoyed his stay in Gisborne and had formed many friendships which he was reluctant, to break.” ‘‘lf we did not differ,” he said, ‘‘there would be no progress, and I am pleased to go away feeling that a certain amount of progress lias been made.”
