DAIRY GRADERS’ MOVE
PRESENTATION MADE MR. G. PURVIS HONORED Mr G. Purvis, dairy grader and instructor at Gisborne, was presented to-day with a case of pipes from, the directorates of the dairy factories of the district as a mark of esteem of the faithful manner in which lie had served them over tiie past seven years. The presentation was made by Mr J. • I. Sunderland, secretary of the Kiu Ora Company, at the ward conference held at Gisborne to-day. In doing so. Mr. Sunderland said that lie could say that Mr Purvis had always been found to be honest in liis endeavor to assist Hie dairy companies. They had lmd ditlerences of opinion, but they had always agreed on their differences. Mr Purvis, in reply, said that lie was leaving Gisborne with mixed feelings. He was going to New Plymouth oil promotion, hill lie had enjoyed his stay in Gisborne and had formed many friendships which he was reluctant to break.”
“If we did not differ,” he said, ‘‘there would lie no progress, and I am pleased to go away feeling that a certain amount of progress has been made.” ‘
