Lowi-v, Hawke's Bay, made an offer of ;t. gift of £IOOO, explaining thatshe jdosir’od l it to he lot-warded as a donation from jlm New Zealand Red Cross to the selwetariat. of the League Bed,Cross Societies. Paris. She has two main reasons for making the gift, first, in recognition of the wonderful assistance given to New Zealand hy the league at the, time of the Hawke’s Bay earthquake, and the second as a gesture, of international ..gooiisvjil. She expressed a hope iliat her example would he followed b%' others ill a. position to do so by subscribing to the -New Zealand society’s funds, mentioning particularly. the. needs- of tho junior red crpss movement as,a means of promoting international peace, children's health camps, and help for\crippled chihjcen.
