GOVERNMENT MAKES GRANT Flip,LlO APPEAL PROPOSED i The announcement that the flovcrnmicnt has decided to set iiside £SOOO as ■the nucleus of a fund for cancer research was made by the Minister of Health, Sir Alexander young, during his visit to Hamilton. The Minister said the gift had been made as' a gesture in connection with the forthcoming! Jubilee of His Majesty the King. An appeal would shortly he made to the public to increase the contribution to the cost of the work in New Zealand of the Royal Cancer Research Society. The fund will he devoted to research work in the Dominion.
