TENTH MILLER MATCH WINS IN ALL SETS TE IT A BARA DEFEATED The Titiraugi holders of the Miller Stars, P. Kami and W. Smiler, successfully defended a challenge from the To ilapara club in the tenth stars engagement- for the season, played on the Titiraugi Tennis Club’s courts last evening, marking thejr. fifth success in the present season. The challengers were W. Gardner and Geoffrey Sharp. The holders were on top throughout, and won all three matches fairly comfortably, despite the stiff handicaps. In the doubles Kalin and Smiler were o 3Q.3 and Gardner and Sharp scratch. The challengers won the first- game, and the holders then evened the score and led 3—l and 7—3, finally running out 9—7. £qua and 'Smiler took the net., and smashed many short returns. In the first single Ivaua was o 30.2 against Gardner, scratch. Kami bolted and won eight games in a row before Gardner broke his “duck.” Tlie final score was 9—l. Kami played a nico cross-court game, forking his opponent out of position and then going in for a kill. Gardner’s play was erratic, and lie found the court much too short. Til the other single match, Smiler was 030 and Sharp scratch. ’Smiler led 3—o, and retained this lend to win 9—5. The Titiraugi player maintained a good length, and hit a hit harder than in his recent matches.
