Comprehensive reports on.the need for further accommodation and equipment at the Waikato Hospital were, received at the last meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board. The report- recommended the addition at the hospital of an inquiry office, waiting rooms, house manager’s office, massage depart men!. put - patients’' department, accommodation for house surgeons, lecture rooms and a library. It was proposed that, the accommodation should lie provided in a twostorey block built 61 brick and with provision for a third storey. The estimated cost- was £17.000. New equipment needed would cost £474. while, the additions required 1 at the* offices in Hamilton were estimated to cost £3009. At a mooting of the Poverty Buy Professional Athletic and Cycling Club, held Inst evening, the following events were set down for competition on Thursday night, at the weekly track meeting eon due ted by the club: —‘loo yds. ladies’ hninVienp; } 00yds. junior men’s handicap; 100yds, men’s open handicap; 4-lap flat handicap; .8lap cycling handicap; 3-lap junior cycle handicap; and 2-lap junior cycle rare for Sutton iSl.ars. The wrestling bouts will he Hnvward v. Hunt; Cooper v. Ruseke; and Stevens v. Pritchard. Competitors must apply to Air. C. L. Davy for passes to the ground.
