SMALLER BUTTER SUPPLIES GREATER CONSUMPTION Private, advice received to-day states that bv Saturday, the market Dor New Zealand butter had declined a further Is per cwt., to 88s. Messrs. Lust month, supplies of New Zealand butter to the London market were smaller than at this time last, year, but at the same time consumption was greater. Figures supplied by the Dairy Board show that January imports into the United Kingdom totalled 38.899 tons from all sources, against 44.697 tons in January last year, and 37,264 tons two vears: ‘agio. New Zealand stocks loaded on steamers not sailed finally and stocks afloat totalled 41,919 tons on February 1, compared with 43,990' tons at the corresponding date last year and 36.831 two years ago. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last month were greater than in January last year by 411 tons, last month’s figure being 9639 tons, but over the period from August to January the total is smaller, 50.111 tons compared with 55.409 tons for the corresponding period of the 1933-34 season.
