INI. Germain Martin, Finance Minister, admitted in an interview that the policy of cheap credit was inaugurated by M. Flandiu, who was himself inspired bv the British example. He said : “Our conception was already tested in practice in England, where London’s vast financial market may be regarded as a model. Our financial policy, aided by an improvement in international rein tionships, should allow the country to escape from a period of stagnation, which would otherwise lead inevitably to monetary troubles."
