MISSING MAN FOUND
BODY IN THE RIVER (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, litis day. The body of Thomas Barry, 69, who had been missing since Sunday, December 50, was found in the river yesterday by Percy Bates, a schoolboy, who was taking a swim. The police took the body to j ho. mortuary, and an inquest was held yesterday afternoon by Air V. E. Winter, coroner, the proceedings being e«Vednrted by Sergeant McGregor. The only evidence taken was that of Percy Bates, and the deceased’s stepson, J. R. Cox, who identified the body. The deceased was a married man with eight children, and was last seen alive at. North Clyde on December 29. He complained of severe pains in the head. At 4:30 o’clock, on the following morning, he left the house, and his amily understood that he was going to a shearing job. The inquest was adjourned.
