SCHOOL HOUSE BURNED

EARLY MORNING BLAZE (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. It was reported to the police yesterday morning by Mr A. McKinnon that (he native school teacher’s residence at Wniliua, about 12 miles south of Wairoa, was burned to the ground til about 3..30 o’clock that morning. Constable Tuck proceeded to the spot, and found that the residence was n total loss. Miss Lombft, the. school teacher, ami her aged mother had occupied the residence, and at the time they were away on holiday in Auckland. No information has been disclosed to show how the fire occurred.
