SECRETARY EXPLAINS
(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Dee. 21), 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dee. 28. “If T were Voce I would paek tip I'or good,” says Carr, commenting on the Notts apology. He added: ‘Notts have not been open with the public, and made an awful mess when they issued the bulletin regarding Voce’s shin trouble ou August <B, which obviously was untrue. Voee was perfectly lit to.bowl on the third day. 'file committee is a weak-kneed lot to have let Larwood, Voee and myself down.”
Voce, interviewed, expressed surprise when he read about the resolution, hut firmly said: “I have nothing to say.”
■Mr Brown, the Notts secretary, issued a statement that tho committee received a letter from Mr Findlay, secretary of the Marylebone club, on August 24 enclosing a Copy of a letter from Mr Bushby complaining of Voce’s bowling. The committee, after careful consideration, concluded that Voce’s two overs on August 13 .justified the complaint, whereupon a resolution deprecating the overs and deciding on measures ,to prevent a recurrence was passed. A copy of the resolution was forwarded to Mr Findlay as correspondence marked “private and confidential.” It was impossible to publish that fact until it was disclosed in Australia. .Notts hud not communicated with the Board of Control.
