DURING WELCOME TO DUKE

WEST MAITLAND, N.S.W., Dec. 1. While the Mayor of West Maitland, Alderman A. S. Macdonald, w T as participating in the welcome to the Duke of Gloucester, thieves were ransacking his residence at Campbell’s Hill. When Alderman and Mrs. Macdonald returned home they found their home in a chaotic state. Everything that could bo conveniently .carried away was taken. The missing articles included a number of presents, war medals, silver ornaments, jewellery, ami a new suit of clothes belonging to ono of their sons.
