HOKITIKA CELEBRATES

HOKITIKA, this clay. The Hokitika jubilee festival was continued in perfect weather conditions. The pioneer sports gathering yesterday attracted a record attendance, capital contests eventuating. The sports are being continued to-day, wood chopping and sawing being the main events. The pioneers’ social last evening was .well attended. Crowds filled the streets until a late hour, a holiday spirit being very noticeable. To-night a jubiJco ball takes place, and the second day’s races on Saturday. Tho scenic resorts arc attracting largo attendances. A special gala night on Saturday has been arranged.
