SCHOOL PICNIC
(Herald Correspondent.) Thy Patutahi Domain was the scene of a ,most enjoyable gathering yesterday* the occasion being the annual picnic and sports meeting in connection With the Patutahi Scnool. Perfect Weather prevailed, and a pleasing feature was the large number of parents and other adults present, all of whom entered into the festivities, making the day a happy one for the children. Through the generosity of the local residents, as well as numerous tradespeople oi Gisborne, the committee was able to provide gifts for. every child present, while substantial trophies were competed for in the athletic events. : PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL A special united service for parents and children was held last Sunday at the Patutahi Presbyterian Church, the preacher being the Rev. A. J. Davis, who took for his subject the dedication of Samuel, drawing an analogy between the lesson ir the Scriptures and tho duties of modern parenthood. At tho dose of the service the prizes in connection with- the Sunday school were presented, the list being as fol-lows:-—Attendance and work.—Joan Braybrook, Alma Atkins, Una Bridg- . land, Moira Wells, Geoffrey Robb, and Stewart Robb.
