CHRISTCHURCH, last night

At the Addington market the entries were heavy to-day on the occasion of the Christmas market. The nest sale will not take place until January 3. All fat stock sold well, particularly lambs and; cattle.

Store sheep.—'There was a heavier entry on account of the effect of the; dry weather on feed. Wethers -eased; by Is to 2s a head. Best made to "16sl 6a, ordinary 12s to 13s 7d, 2-tooth: halfbred ewes to 21s 4d, ordinary 4 and 6-tooth to 18s, ewes and lambs (Ml counted) 7s to 10s '9d. - Eat lambs,—43oo were penned. The, schedule for export has been improved: to 7yd per lb. for firsts, and other grades correspondingly, and improved, prices were maintained for the big; entry. Good prime lambs made from; 21s to 23s 6d, and a few pens went higher. I Fat sheep.—A big entry of slightly more than 6000 were all bought toy the trade and exporters at last week’s values. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 25s lOd; prime heavy, 23s to 24s 64; prime medium weight, 21s to 22s 6d; light and ordinary, to 20s 6d: extra prime heavy ewes, to 22s 4d; medium weight, prime 16s to 17s 6d, ordinary 14s to 16s 6d, light to 13s. Fat cattle.—slo were penned of good quality, and there was an improved sale by 15s a head. Best beef made 24s to 26s per 1001 b. good 21s to 23s 6d, heavy 18s 6d to 20s 6d, ordinary 16s to IBs, and rough down to 13s. Extra prime heavy steers made to £ll 2s 6d; prime heavy, £9 to £lO 7s; prime medium weight, £8 to £9 15s • ordinary, £4 10s to £7 15s; light, to £4 10s; best liqifers, £5 5s to £8 17s 6d; ordinary, £3 "5s to £5; light, to £3; best, edws, £4 10s to £7 12s 6d; medium, £2 15s to £4; light, to £2 10s.

Fat pigs.—There was a very heavy entry, and a weaker sale for porkers, for which the export demand was limited. Baeoners met with a good sale. Porkers made 28s 6tl to 40s—average' price per lb., 6d to 6|d; haconers, 45s 6(1 to £3 8s 6d—average price per 1b.,. scl to sjd; choppers, 30s to £3 3s.
