GOLF

AMERICANS IN FORM OPPONENTS OUTCLASSED SYDNEY, Nov. 9. Showing accuracy in the high wind, the American professional golfers won three foursomes against Australia at the Lakes course to-day. Laffoon and Wood defeated W. Bolgor and Spence, 5 and 4; Runyan and Cooper defeated Stewart and V. Richardson, 6 and 5; Shute and Diegel defeated Naismith and Cohen, 7 and 0. The Americans, who outclassed their opponents, were rarely off the fairway, and covered the pin with their seconds. Laffoon and Wood played dazzling golf. The singles will be played to-morrow.
