MELBOURNE TOURNEY MELBOURNE, Nov. 9. The polo contests were played under most unfavorable conditions. The Duke of Gloucester, however, witnessed some exciting games. New South Wales, 18, defeated South Australia A, 1; Queensland, 9, beat New Zealand, 3. Johnson (New Zealand) strained a muscle and could not continue. South Australia B, 21, beat Victoria B.
