A presentation to a well-known Gisborne resident on the occasion of his seventy-eighth birthday was made by his many friends lhis morning to Mr. Tom Robinson. The presentation took the form of a birthday cake, his friends at the same time wishing him many more years of happiness. There is now a very attractive entrance to the Gisborne Refrigerating Company’s office at Kaiti. When the last addition was made to the freezing block so 1 as to enlarge the storage chambers, the ollieo was moved to a separate building at the northern end of the works. At the lime of the removal, the ground was in an unfinished state, and there, was nothing externally attractive, except for the neatness of the office building. Now, however, a flower bed has taken tho place of a bare patch on the southern side of the office, and a blaze of color is provided beside the opposite building by a row of sweet pens, the general appearance being enhanced greatly by the work carried out,.
