(Herald Correspondent.) The weather is sultry enough now to please all who have been complaining oi the erratic conditions. The Wairoa Harbor Board’s B shed is now being fdled with wool. Shearing was resumed on Wednesday, after a slight interruption. Three shifts are now engaged on the machinery section of the reconstruction of the Wairoa freezing works. The new smoke stack, a steel tube 115 ft. high, lias been already tested. ' The final social in connection with St. Peter’s Church drew a large attendance. The card games resulted.—Ladies : Mrs. Lindsay, 1; Mrs. Campbell, 2. Gentlemen : Mr. Hunn, 1; Mr. Rachinger 2. Mr. Hunn also won a special competition.
