SURPRISE FOR “SMITHY”
SIX-YEAR-OLD CLAIM
(Received Xov. (>, 2 p.ni.) LOS ANGELES, Xov. 5. 'Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s Lady Southern Cross was to-day attached in a suit, filed by E. Beverley, assignee of Tom Cotton, who asserted that the flyer owed him 27.10 dollars for interest .and services rendered in .1028, preparatory to “Smithy’s” -westward flight to Brisbane.
Under Californian laws, it is necessary for Sir Charles to post a 1100 dollars bond to obtain the release of the machine, which is now in the possession of a deputy marshal,
