WAIMATA FLOWER SHOW

HIGH QUALITY EXHIBITS On Thursday afternoon the first flower show, to he held under the auspices of tiie Waimata Valley Women’s Institute, took place in the local hall. Tho weather was perfect and both entries and attendance more than satisfactory. The long room looked very gay with curtains and tablecloths of the institute colors, of blue and yellow and the tiers of blossoms in the floral sections made a garden of color down the length of the wall. . Many thanks were expressed to the judges for the cdpTiblh way in which they carried out their duties. The judges commented favorably on the number and quality of the exhibits iti most Sections, particularly remarking on the excellence of the cooking section as a whole. The decorative, and floral classes were also mentioned as being very good, and more than once difficulty was experienced in making the final decisions.
