GISBORNE CLUBRACE FROM AUCKLAND A fine ravoring wind'and perfect flying weather prevailed for the Gisborne Flying Club’s weekly race, held on Saturday. The race was from Auckland, an airline distance of 220 miles. A fast race for the distance resulted, most of tlie birds registering good velocities. The birds were liberated at 8 a.m. .and the winning bird was home shortly after noon, leading by a good margin from the rest of the field. The other placed birds were close together. The race resulted as follows: C. Lawsou’s b.c.c. Lordly Knight, 1578.4yds per min., 1; F. B. Wildish’s b.c.p.h. Royal Colors, 1500.6yds per min., 2; W. Brown’s b.c.p.h. HOMING PIGEON SOCIETY

FORSTER CUP RACE The Homing Pigeon Society’s yearling championship for the Forster Cup, in which 37 birds competed, representing 15 lofts, was held on Saturday from Wootlville. The race was over a distance of 164 miles. The birds were liberated at 11.56 a.m. uhder line weather conditions. The six birds which took tlie first six places finished very closely. The first bird was clocked at 4.7 p.m. E. Stephenson’s Loves Lady, a blue chequer hen, was the winner with a velocity of 1141.1yds per minute. Second place was taken by W. Dunstan’s mealie cock with a velocity of U32yfls p:r minute, while M. Sharp’s Little John, a blue chequer cock, was third with a velocity of 1129yds per minute.
