OBITUARY
MRS. J. H. JAMES
The death occurred at her residence this morning of Mrs. Eliza Caroline James, aged 71, the wife of Mr. J. 11. James, of 192 Crawford road, Gisborne. Tho deceased had been ailing for about two years. Mrs. James was born and educated in Wellington, where she married the late Mr. John Singleton. She removed to this district about 32 years ago and some time after the death of Mr. Singleton she married Mr! James. The late Mrs. Janies had always been a keen gardener and was of a kindly disposition. She leaves to mourn their loss two sons, Mr. John Singleton, of Wanganui,, and Mr. Noble James, of Waikokopu, and one daughter, Mrs. R. L. Bartlett, of Gisborne, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deceased had also four brothers, jMr. John Turner, of Makauri, Mr. Richard Turner, of Hamilton, Mr. Jim Turner, of Tawa Flat, Mr. Arthur Turner, of Gisborne, and three sisters Mrs. Sutherland, of Pctone, Mrs. Carl, of Christchurch, and Mrs. Pearce, of Pahiatua. The funeral will leave deceased s late residence at 2 p.m, on Friday for Taruheru cemetery.
