Messrs. 8. Ryan mid T. McNicol, Gisborne, were recent visitors to Auckland. Mr. F. W. Nolan. Gisborne, was a visitor at the Auckland Rotary Club s gathering on Monday. Inspector 11. Martin lias returned to Gisborne from an official inspection of the northern portion of the Gisborne 'police district, including Whnkatane.

Mr 11. E. Marker, Mayor of Wai roa, is visiting Wellington in eonnee tion with the power boards’ confer ence.

Mr. Gordon Bryan, examiner for the Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London, will conduct the local examinations of the board on Thursday and Friday, October 4 and 5. He will proceed south oil the Friday afternoon.

Mr. J. D. Anderson, inspector of stock at Gisborne, returned homo yesterday from sick leave, and expects to depart on September 25 for his new position at Hawera. His successor, Mr. F. R. Bould, Clyde, Otago, is due in Gisborne on September 21.

Lieutenant-General Sir Alexander Godlev will arrive at Auckland from London by the Rangitiki on October 24 and will spend two days in Auckland before leaving for Melbourne, where lie will attend the Melbourne Centenary celebrations.
