ARCTIC PICNIC

A MOTLEY ASSEMBLAGE OTTAWA. August 5. A message from Cameron Bay, Great Bear Luke, states that Lord Duncaunon, the Governor-General’s son, headed a parado of a motley throng of Eskimos, Indians, paleface trappers, prospectors, dog mushers, traders, and mounted police in the greatest event of the year, the Arctic picnic.

For the last week the cavalcade has been arriving by air, land and water. A combined Indian potlatch, or banquet, for Lord Duncaunon winds up the 48 hours’ festival inside the Arctic circle under the midnight sun.
