WICKERWORKERS’ AWARD DEADLOCK OVER WAGES (Per PraRS Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. After sitting most, of yesterday the Conciliation Council held to consider the New Zealand wickerworkers’ dispute failed to come to an agreement, and adjourned sine die. An application for an award was made by the New Zealand Furniture Trades Union of Workers, this being the first time an application has been made for a Dominion award for wickerworkers.

During the- discussion, it became apparent that an agreement could be reached on the question of hours, but the rate of pay was still disputed.. Finally, the council adjourned sine die, and the employers arc to advise the union whether they can accept the workers’ final offer of Is lid an hour for journeymen and the deletion of the' provisions for youths and females.
