{Herald Correspondent.) TT The rainfall recordod at the GofetlP ment weather station for July w;as 4.22 inches. Rain fell on 10 days, the maximum fall being 2.22 in. on July 27, There were 13 frosts, the maximum being of 12 degrees on July 2, For the corresponding month last year 5.41 in, of rain was logged, the fall being spread over 16 days. ■ -.* "4^ i The losses, of lambs on; th%.,iftai d'uri ing the recent cold snap were negligible, and the rain will be of immeasurable benefit to pastures. Arrangements are well in hand for tomorrow’s dance in aid of the dental clinic fund, and no efforts are being spared to ensure the comfort and pleasure of patrons. ; A roost successful euchre tournament ; was held on Monday, evening at the Wai- : fuhi meeting house under the auspices of the Waituhi Hockey Club, players being present. 1 from Patutahi and Hex- ; ton. Before supper was dispensed the opportunity was taken of presenting a silver .cup, donated by Mr R. Sherratt, for competition among the lady members jof the Patutahi Tennis Club during the past season. : The winner of this' hand* i some trophy was Mrs J.
