Since the Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia was: at Auckland last she has been fitted with wireless, the equipment having been installed in the vessel in Australia. The schooner arrived at Auckland from Townsville yesterday. She is now able to send or receive messages for a distance of about 4CO miles. The directors of the Cunard Steam Ship Company, Limited, have resolved to defer payment of the dividends on the 5 per cent, cumulative preference stock and the 6 per cent, second cumulative preference stock due to be made on July 1 for the half-year ending June 30, 1934. The dividends'are in arrears since June 30, 1931.
