ADDINGTON SALES FAT STOCK DEARER OTHER VALUES DECLINE (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night.-. Entries were larger’ to-day at Addington. Reef and mutton showed a slight improvement, but in those sections directly affected by the proposed meat export restrictions, ewes in lamb and fat pigs, there was an easing.

Store sheep.—There was a heavier entry, but a weak sale, values being down by 2s to 3s for ewes. Medium 2-tli three-quarterbred ewes made 23s 7d to 265; ordinary 2-th halfbred, to 21s; ordinary 4 and' 6-th three-quarter-, bred, to 20s Id; medium s.m. halfbred and three-quarterbred, 22s 7d to 245; ordinary s.m. halfbred, to 21s; sound mouth merino, to 16s 9d; good three-quarterbred ewe hoggets, to 23s 9d; good Corriedale wethers, 17s to 19s 2d; mixed sex, 16s to 16s 6d; good 4-th halfbred wethers, to 21s 8d; good sound mouth, to 21s. *■■■-- Eat sheep. —There was a heavier entry of excellent quality. Fat pigs.—The entry of porkers was larger, and the demand was weaker. Baeoners comprised a medium entry, and the sale was also less active. Choppers made £2 to £5 16s; baeoners!, 45s 6d to 55s 6d; extra heavy baeoners. up to £4 Cs —average price per lb, 4d to sd; porkers, 24s 6d to 27s Gd; heavy porkers, 32s 6d‘ to 40s—average price per lb, 4}d to ssd. Store pigs.—There was a large entry and values declined. Weaners made 9s 6d to 14s 6d;. slips, 12s to 14s; small stores, I4s to- 18s; large, 20s to 275: sows in pig, £4 17s 6d. WESTFIELD MARKET PRICES LITTLE CHANGED GENERALLY GOOD DEMAND (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. There were again good prices at the Westfield fat stock sale, with general high quality. - Beef cattle were yarded in good numbers, and the offering included the best of the season. One let of 61 steers averaged over £lO, and sold to £ll 17s 6d. A 20-month steer bought £9. Although the prices per lOOlbs were. unchanged, there was a slight easing tendency. A large number of cows and heifers were penned and the demand was sustained to the end of the sale.

Extra choice ox made 24s per lOOlbs, choice and prime, 20s to 235; secondary and plain, 15s to 20s; prime young cow and heifer beef, 19s to 235; other cow •beef, 10s to- 19s. Extra heavy prime steers mado £lO 15s to £ll 17s 6d; heavy prime, £9 15s to £lO 12s 6d; lighter prime, £8 10s to £9 12s 6d; light prime, £7 to £8 7s ,6d : small and unfinished, £4 5s to £6 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £6 10s to £8; heavy prime, £5 to £6 2s 6d; lighter prime, £3 15s to £4 17s 6d; other billable cows, £1 10s to £3 12s 6d. Calves came forward well up to average numbers, and included a good offering of runners. Competition was keen, and recent advanced prices were fully maintained. Runners made 40s to 80s; t oilers, 29s to 725; bobby calves, 2s to 4s.

An increased numlrer of sheep was penned, and the quality was about the average. The demand was sustained with little change in pric© levelsr Wat here, prime, made 23s 6d to 31s; unfinished, 18s to 24s ; maiden ewes, 25s 9d ; jn-ime, 19s to 255; unfinished, 15s to 20s.

Lambs came forward in good numbers, and again sold well at slightly easier prices. A few spring lambs were offeroil. I.ambs, prime, made 17s to 265; unfmished, 10s to 175.; spring lambs, 25s to 30s.

The pig pens were well filled for this time of the year, with a large number of prime sorts, but there was a- shortage of very heavy baconers. Southern havers were again operating. Competition throughout was brisk, and values were fully on a par with, those of last week. The proposed meat restrictions had no effect on the prices of store pigs, which were firm at late rates. Baconecs made 50s to 775; porkers, 30s to 475; large stores, 23s to 28s • prices per lb. were about the same as last week, baconors s]d to s£d, and porkers 5d to 53d.
