(Herald Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of Te Karaka branch of the Farmers Union \vas held in the 'VVaikohu Hall on May 18. Air. It- M. King presided over a good attendance of members. Fanning problems of the day were discussed, some remits being drawn up to bo forwarded to the Poverty Bay executive. The secretary read a lengthy letter from the president of the Auckland executive dealing with the butter quota- and tlve facts contained therein gave those present a very clear insight into the pi*gnt of the dairying industry. It was decided to meet together on the .third Tuesday in the month. It is to be hoped .that the next meeting will bring forth many new members ail anxious to pull together for the .coming good of the farmers. Mrs. Steele and Miss Jean Steele have returned from Dunedin.—Miss N. Stevens was the guest of Aliss Jean Dods, Ormond, for the Awapuni hunt on Saturday.—Aliss Alatthews has returned from Auckland. —Miss O’Hara Smith lias returned from Wellington and was The week-end guest of Aliss $. Alaclean, Pupa,—Miss Bobby Appleton is spending her vacation from the university in Dunedin, as the guest of Mrs. Watson, Opawa, Christchurch.
