OPENING IN JAMAICA A VALUABLE REPORT STATEMENT BY MINISTER (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Manufacturers and exporters in New Zealand will shorty have an opportunity, through the initiative of the Ron. R. Masters, Minister of Industries and Commerce, of analysing first-hand information as to the possibilities of increased trade between New Zealand and Jamaica. At the direction of the Minister, Mr. J. W. Collins, New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Canada, had extensive investigations carried out in, Jamaica, and the outcome of the inquiry has been the production of a voluminous report and a series of useful recommendations, ‘‘The report is a most comprehensive document, ahi is rather too long for publication 'in 1 toto,” said the Minister, on his arrival in Auckland. “However, I am making arrangements to have the main features summarised in the form of a bulletin which I hope to issue shortly. It is sufficient to say, at present, that the facts contained in the report are encouraging from New Zealand’s point of view, and when the details are made known it ,will be for our manufacturers and traders to determine lo what extent they will avail themselves of the opportunities which clearly are shown to exist for expanding our export trade with this centre of the West Indies.”
