POLICY DISCUSSED

AUSTRALIA AND N.Z. ARRIVAL OF MR. BRUCE (Per Press Association.) . AUCKLAND, this day. The Commonwealth High Commissioner, Mr S. M. Bruce, arrived by the Monterey and was met by the private secretaries on behalf of the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbesand the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates. Interviewed, Mr Bruce said he had come to have a conversation with the Prime Minister and his colleagues, and declined, in the meantime, to say anything more. Any statement must naturally come from Mr Forbes. Mr Bruce, after breakfast, disembarked and went into conference wifK'Mr Forbes, Mr Coates, and the Hon. R. Masters at an hotel. It is unlikely that any announcement of the result of the conference, if any, will be made until after the Monterey's departure, which has been postponed from 1 till 4 o’clock this afternoon at the company’s suggestion, in order to allow' the Ministers more time.
