MAY GIVE UP THRONE
SACRIFICE FOR WOMAN LONDON, April 16. King Carol, of Rumania, who once gave up his throne for a woman, may do so again. Tho Vienna correspondent of the Daily Mail reports that Carol dare not trust his troops and remains in his castle at Sinaia, guarded by detectives. , . Friends say that lie can only retain the Throne if he banishes the redhaired Jewess, Madame Lupescu, but Carol replies that ho would rather lose his crown. > Twenty persons have been arrested for alleged complicity in the plot to blow up the Palace Church, while Carol and members of the Government were attending an Easter service. Eleven are army officers headed by Colonel Prccup, who was responsible for recalling Carol to the Throne in 1930.
