TWO ALMOST MISS THE ORFORD AT SEA, April t>. But for the vigilance of an Orford passenger, the Australians would have left Colombo two short. After dinner, Brown and Bromley, who are both teetotallers, weal sight seeing. They boarded the last launch to return to the Orford, which was leaving at midnight. Before going to the Orford, the launch called at the Chitral, which was moored a similar distance from the wharf, in readiness to leave at midnight also. Seeing that apparently all the launch passengers were alighting, Brown and Bromley thought the Chitral was the Orford, and ascended the gangway The launch continued towards the Orford, but, fortunately, one of the Orford’s passengers on the launch recognised the cricketers on the Chitral’s gangway, and asked the launch to put back for the pair, who were still unaware of their mistake. \ few minutes ltilcr the vessels put to sea.
