BANK’S CLAIM DISPUTED GUARANTEE SYDNEY, April 20. lu the action in the Supreme Court by the Rank of New Zealand against John Wren, of Melbourne, investor, in which the bank claimed £15,235 in respect ot a guarantee by the plaintiff, the judge directed the jury that the evidence by Wren of. the conversation between him and the then Sydney manager of the bank concerning the limit of the amount to be advanced to Cooke’s, Limited, was not such as could be accepted in this instance, and that such an agreement should have been in writing. The jury accordingly gave a verdict for the full amount claimed.
