SHEEP DOG TRIALS
BAY OF PLENTY FIXTURE The Bay of Plenty annual dog trials are being held at Opotiki in fine weather. There are record entries, competitors being present from Gisborne, Te Karaka, East Coast, Wliakatane, and Taueatua. A large crowd ol spectators from Opotiki and surrounding districts on Wednesday watched some splendid contests. Results: — Zigzag Hunt.—G. 8. Mead’s Fly, 39 points, 1; C. J. Gordon’s Tui, 37 points, 2; G. S. Mead’s Rowdy, 32 points, 3; O. J. Gordon’s Roy, 27 points, 4. There were 25 competitors Straight Hunt.—M. Williams’ Royal, 42 points, 1; G. S. Mead’s Rowdy, 39 points, 2: A. Irvine’s Ned, 38 points, 3; T. Mitchell’s Black, 36 points, 4. There were 25 competitors.
