SYDNEY RECORDS ’QUAKE
PROBABLY IN NEW GUINEA (Received March 2, noon.) SYDNEY, March 2. An earthquake was recorded at Sydney Observatory in the early hours of yesterday morning. Large surface waves reached their greatest intensity at 12.31). It is believed that the centre of the disturbance was about 1800 miles north of Sydney, probably in New Guinea.
