GLANDULAR RESEARCH
STUDY UNDER VORONOFF
MELBOURNE, Dee. 22. Dr, H. Leighton-Joncs, of Sydney, who returned from London to day by tho steamer Port Campbell, did glandular research and studied the intricate surgery of rejuvenation in Prance and Italy. Ife has come back to Australia a disciple of the Voronoff brothers.
Dr. Leighton-Jonos said he did research work under the direction ot the Voronoff brothers at the Institute of Physiological Research at Autucil, near Paris, and at the Chateau Grimaldi, a cancer research institute. The Voronoffs, he said, were doing remarkable work in glandular research and rejuvenation treatments and had performed more than 1000 operations in this class of surgery. Their oldest, and most famous case was that of a surgeon who was still practising in Belgium at the ago of 90 years. The Voronoff operation for rejuvenation was now included in the text hooks of surgery in use in the medical schools of Paris.
Dr. Leighton-Joncs has brought; with him from Liverpool six Abyssinian baboons which he intends to keep in his laboratory in Sydney until required for gland-grafting purposes.
