FISKEN CUP GAMES GISBORNE V. POVERTY BAY 'Hie second of the inter-dub . matches for the Fisken Cup was commenced yesterday, when the Gisborne club representatives met Poverty Bay’s, on the latter dub’s green. Playing conditions, both in regard to weather and green, were perfect, and some very even and well-fought games resulted. Four of the five games were not decided till the last head had been played, tho other one being uneven from ail early stage. Three games went to Poverty Bay, Gisborne winning the other two. The match will be continued on ■Saturday, on the Gisborne club’s green. The first of the district matches will be played next Wednesday evening, when East meets West, play commencing at 5.45 o’clock. This is a Poverty Bay elnl) fixture in which much interest has been taken in past seasons. KAIIUTIA CLUB . There was a good attendance on the Rahutia green yesterday, when a good number of competition games were playid. Some of the games proved very nteresting. The teams of Dudfield and Roderick, by winning yesterday, are now n the lead and meet in the last game )f the series next week.
