LINDBERGHS’ FLIGHT 1875 MILKS IN J 6 HOURS (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) ' ( Received December 7, 11 u.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 6. Colonel and Mrs. Charles Lindbergh landed at- Natal, Brazil, 16 hours after their take-off from West Africa, the distance being 1875 miles. A message from Mrs. Lindbergh two hours alter they took off reported that everything was “0.K.” .She said she would report the progress of the flight every 15 minutes. The Lindberghs were approximately 446 miles south-west of Bathurst, West Africa, at 12.50 a.m. on Wednesday, 225 minutes after their departure. A friendly wind of 10 knots and perfect weather was helping them. Mrs. Lindbergh kept sending encouraging messages at regular intervals. I'li3 altitude was averaging 1203 ft., and the heavily-laden ship was not'at her best cruising speed. The flyers had covered 630 miles, about one-tlurd of tlio way, at 2.15 a.m. Eastern standard time. They reported frequent squalls, overcast skies, and a calm sea with the wind at zero at 1000 ft, At 1 a.m. they passed Fernando Xoronha, and continued to Natal, where they landed safely.
