VERDICT FOR MINISTER

PRESBYTERIAN DISPUTE ASSEMBLY’S DECISION (Per Press Association.; WELLINGTON, this day. Having reviewed The crisis among Presbyterians in Palmerston North, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand yesterday reversed the decision pf the Wanganui Presbytery, which had dissolved the pastoral tie between the Rev. G. T. Brown and St. Andrew’s Church. The moderator, the lit. Rev. 1). D. Scott, was requested to convey to the congregation the feeling of tin l General Assembly, which was that there should l>e a further attempt at co-operation between the minister and the officebearers.

The assembly was convened to hear and determine a dissent and complaint by Mr Brown against a resolution of the Wanganui Presbytery dissolving the pastoral tie at St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North. The dissent revolved mostly around the minister’s motor ear allowance, ami the culmination was a series of charges based on Mr'Brown’s conduct al various meetings, and laid by about N office-bearers, who hold the view that he is not lit to retain his 'position.
