CURATIVE PROPERTIES LORD BEEDISEOE’S PRAISE It was stated by the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledistoe, at the public reception accorded to Lady Bledisloe and himself at ll,'miner Springs on the occasion of the recent jubilee celebrations that he intended to draw the attention of the Dominions Gtliee in London to the therapeutic qualities of the hot mineral springs in the township in regard to certain ailments.

Until about 18 months ago the extraordinary charm of llaiuner Springs or the value of its hot springs had not been brought to his notice, and st.iil less were, the advanin ;es of such a naturally favored spot brought to the attention of overseas travellers.

About a month ago. Lord Bledisloe added, after learning about the therapeutic properties of the waters at Rotorua. he had addressed a communication to the Dominions Oilin' in London, lie had found that no waters in any part of tlve world, including Czeelio- Slovakia, which tvas famous for its mineral waters, were so valuable for curing certain ailments as were the waters of Rotorua. After having had a talk with Dr. B. Chisholm. medical superintendent of Queen Mary IlnxwtnL he propos'd to forward a similar romnmnirafion in respect to Hanmor Springs.
