A pioneer settler of the Oban district, Mr. A. S. Death, died suddenly at liis home. He was born at Taitn, Wellington, 68 years ago. “Interference with bicycles in Napier is becoming so common that the time has come when it is necessary to send some accused persons—even first olFenders —to prison now and again,” remarked Air. J. Miller, {5.M., in the Magistrate’s Court. Senior-Sergeant W. Pender pointed out that scarcely a day passed without a bicycle theft being reported.
