PETROL USED AS CLEANER (Pei - Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Ibis day. The danger oi’ using petrol as a cleaner was emphasised yesterday when the lire brigade was called out to a washhouse lire in Tiiiakori road caused by dollies which had been cleaned with petrol tak ing lire. Before tho brigade arrived two people received burns in trying to quell the flames, these being Mrs. Blanche Stewart, the occupier of the premises, and Leonard Mavo, who assisted in the task. Mrs. Stewart was burned on tho forearms, hut Mr. Mayo suffered more severely on tho face and hands, and was taken to hospital.
