CYCLING CONTROVERSY
ATHLETES’ ATTITUDE PARTIAL CONCESSION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association at the annual meeting passed a motion to the effect that the association was prepared to resume negotiations with certain sections of cyclists’ organisations, and, undet certain provisions, hold athletic meetings at, which cylists may participate. The council is agreeable to discuss the question of holding combined meetings with a properly constituted authority controlling amateur cycling. Clubs will be allowed until December 14 to include cycling events in their programmes, such events” to be confined to cyclists who are members under the New Zealand Cycling Council, and have not joined or competed in events held under the jurisdiction of the New Zealand League of Amateur Wheelmen. Lord Bledisloe was appointed patron, Mr. R. W. McVilly, president; Mr. H. I. Austad, chairman; and Mr. L. A. Tracy, secretary and treasurer.
